Infamous by George Plimpton

I watched Infamous, the 2006 movie about Truman Capote's work on the novel, In Cold Blood, last weekend. For all the awards given to Capote in 2005, I wasn't sure Infamous would live up to my expectations.

Infamous is loaded with top rank, bonafide movie stars of the highest caliber including Sigourney Weaver, Sandra Bullock, and Gweneth Paltrow. I thought Toby Jones portrayal of Capote was every bit as good as Capote.

In my opinion, Infamous is a superior movie and I enjoyed watching it. I haven't read the book by George Plimpton, but the movie has inspired me to check it out.

The movie inspired me to purchase Mockingbird, the biography of Harper Lee written by Charles Shields and published in 2006.

Interesting. I had a strong preference for Capote; I think Philip Seymour Hoffman and Catherine Keener were far superior. I was moved to tears by Capote, but Infamous just felt sort of annoying.
