A novel published 80-years ago is still creating a stir this week. I haven't read Elmer Gantry by Sinclair Lewis, but I'm going to add it to my list of planned purchases at my favorite bookseller.
Elmer Gantry is a satirical novel that explored religion and those that choose to use religion to exploit others. ChristianPost.com published an article that summarizes the problem for Christians. National Public Radio also featured a piece about Elmer Gantry earlier this week. PostBulletin.com weighed in as well with this additional article online to remind us all that the movie version of the novel was awarded 3 Oscars in 1961.
